Meet Danuel Lane

Hi, I’m Danuel Lane, the principal accountant at DLJ Accountants, a small business accountant in Logan. My journey into the world of accounting began with an unexpected twist of fate. I was working in retail when one day two accounting textbooks appeared on my doorstep. To this day I don’t know where they came from! A mysterious catalyst that re-ignited my passion for numbers and finance.

While I may not have followed a traditional academic path, my innate affinity for numbers drove me to enroll in a cert IV/Diploma at TAFE in Port Macquarie. This marked the beginning of my formal education in accounting, a journey that took me to Brisbane’s QUT, where I completed my Business degree with a Major in Accounting.

My passion for customer-focused service, cultivated during my time in retail, continues to shape my approach to accounting. I am dedicated to assisting my clients in defining and achieving their priorities and goals, whether they are financial or deeply personal.

A Glimpse into My Life

When I’m not immersed in the world of finance, I’m a devoted educator at TAFE, teaching accounting and bookkeeping from cert III to Cert IV. Family is at the center of my life, with a loving marriage and two wonderful children – a 19-year-old and a nearly 2-year-old.

While I grew up in Port Macquarie, the past 12 years have seen me call Brisbane home, residing in Logan for the past decade. A strong community focus has always been important to me. While recent times have been busy with teaching, business, and family, I eagerly anticipate re-engaging with community activities and volunteering, just as I did when I coached my oldest son’s soccer team and played squash.

Professional Bio

My professional journey has been marked by dedication and achievement. After completing my Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business with a Major in Accounting from QUT, I delved into the world of accounting in November 2011. Over the years, I honed my expertise in various firms, eventually achieving full CPA membership in December 2015.

As a CPA Public Practice licensee since July 2020, I embarked on a new chapter by starting my own business in May 2022. Alongside this venture, I continue to teach accounting and bookkeeping, maintaining my connection to education and the empowerment it brings.

Being a Xero Bronze Partner, Xero Certified Advisor, and Xero Payroll Advisor reflects my commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and innovation, ensuring that you receive the best possible service.
